General Services
Our Veterinarians are trained in advanced surgical techniques. We perform many complicated surgeries that are not routinely done by other small animal practices. Whether we are performing a spay, neuter or a complicated orthopedic or cancer surgery, extreme caution and great attention to detail is taken to ensure the safe recovery of your pet. We place great emphasis on pre-surgical evaluation to best determine the most appropriate anesthetic agent for each pet. Intra-operatively, a safe anesthetic gas, oxygen and heart monitors are utilized to minimize risks. Post-operatively, a trained technician is assigned to each case, and stays with your pet until they are completely awake.
Through client education we are able to administer pain medication and perform pre-surgical blood work and EKG screenings on most pets.

Periodontal (gum) disease is the most common condition seen by veterinarians. Most pets need a professional dental cleaning by 3 years of age. We at A.P.A.W. place great emphasis on dental hygiene, not only to prevent tooth decay and bad breath, but also to prevent secondary diseases of the liver, kidney and heart.
Some signs and symptoms of periodontal disease are bad breath, sensitivity around the mouth, loss of appetite, and difficulty eating or chewing food. A.P.A.W. is equipped to perform thorough dental cleaning, polishing, oral surgery and radiology.

We have the unique ability to provide late night through early morning monitoring when necessary for intensive care cases. Every hospitalized pet receives daily-personalized veterinary care. We know how important your pet’s recovery is to you; therefore we provide progress reports on a daily basis in regard to your companion’s medical status.
We respect and love senior pets and our goal is to maintain quality life for our pets as long as possible. To do this, we provide a comprehensive senior Preventative Medical Program. This program targets key senior-related health problems to institute preventative health care measures and detect disorders early enough for medical and surgical management. We offer two (2) different levels of health screening depending upon the age and general health status of your pet. Ask us about which level is right for your beloved pet.
